Brexit Summer Time
It is a beautiful sunny morning, I have changed the time on the clocks, moving them forward on an hour. As there are four clocks in this house, does that mean I have lost four hours? I think they should change on a Friday at mid-day then everyone could go home an hour early, which would allow a bit of extra time to wipe the bird poo out of the barbecue, cut the grass and be ready for the first weekend of summer.
This coming week, Brexit summer time will start, or 'Brexit start time' if you prefer. This does not involve the clocks going forward - more likely a trip back fifty years. With a government that has the negotiating skills of Attila the Hun you never know what might happen. I did hear the foreign secretary say the other day whilst he was leaning on the despatch box, that the United States was our closest ally. With his expensive education old Boris should know that Europe is only 22 miles across the channel, and that the U.S.A is a tad further than that by about 3500 miles. Oh and if Boris is thinking that we have some sort of equivalence to the presidential administration in the U.S.A. then we are in for a rough ride!
The next couple of years should be great fun, so role out the Barbie, open the bar and try to enjoy yourself.
